  • What are the advantages of mini storage
    Extra space Many people have limited storage space at home, especially in cities where homes are often smaller. A mini warehouse gives you extra space to store things you don't use daily. Seasonal storage Mini storage is perfect for storing seasonal items such as winter clothing, ski equipment, garden furniture and bicycles. This frees up space at home for things you use more often. Moving and renovation If you are moving or renovating, a mini warehouse can be a practical solution for temporary storage of furniture and belongings. This gives you more space and flexibility during the process. Safety Our self storage facilities offer security features such as video surveillance, alarms and climate-controlled rooms, ensuring that your assets are safe and well protected. Cost effective Renting a self storage unit can be a reasonable solution compared to renting a larger home or office space. It gives you the flexibility to rent exactly the space you need.   • How to create a user?
    Click on "Become a customer" at the top of the website and follow the instructions
  • How do I get access to the warehouse?
    As soon as you have accepted the offer and made payment, you will get access to the warehouse via the app on your phone. Download the JustIn Mobile app from the AppStore or Google Play. Once you have downloaded the app, you must register to be assigned a digital key. When the key is active, hold the mobile phone to the Salto reader by the front door. PS! Remember to check that the door is locked when you leave the warehouse.
  • How does the reservation of a storage room work?
    When you reserve a storage unit, you will receive a confirmation email. Within 24 hours we will contact you regarding the reservation. The reservation is valid for 3 days and is non-binding.
  • Is the reservation binding?
    No, the reservation is free and non-binding. Payment is only made when the contract is signed.
  • How long is the binding period?
    If you cancel the storage space before the 15th of the month, you do not have to pay for the next month unless otherwise agreed.
  • What documents do I need to bring?
    When you rent a storage room, you must bring identification with a photo.
  • How does the payment take place?
    When you rent a storage room, the first payment is made by credit card via Stripe on our website. Payments will then be made automatically via Stripe until the agreement is terminated. If it is the first time you rent from us, and it will also cost NOK 300 for a new unique lock for your storage room.
  • Do you accept credit cards?
    Yes. We accept most Norwegian and international credit cards. Payment is made through Stripe.
  • What happens if I am late with a payment?
    Usually we give you a friendly reminder to pay. If you do not respond to our reminders, you risk being charged a fee. If you still do not respond to our inquiries, we will have to block your storage space.
  • Can I pay in online banking?
    No. Only companies are able to pay via online banking. Private individuals must register with a payment card and payment is handled by Stripe.
  • Do I have to pay a deposit?
    Usually we do not require a deposit. This is avoided by credit checks of new tenants.
  • Can I cancel the order?
    Yes. You normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. If the tenancy has started and the warehouse has been put into use, the right of withdrawal will not apply.
  • Is it necessary to have insurance?
    Yes. It is a requirement from us that what is stored in your unit's warehouse is fully insured. We recommend that you use your own insurance, and that proof of insurance is presented before moving in. We currently do not offer insurance, but will offer this at a later date. The insurance is not included in the price on the website.
  • What happens in the event of damage to my stored items
    If the accident is out of the question, please contact us at skade@aalesund-minilager.no . If you use private insurance, you report to your own insurance company.
  • Is storage in mini storage safe?
    Yes. Our warehouses have video surveillance and access control. In order to gain access to our warehouses, access is required via the Salto JustIN app on your phone or an RFID tag. If you have 24/7 access, you will also receive a personal code for deactivating the burglar alarm.
  • Why does 24/7 access cost extra?
    For safety reasons, we and the industry generally want to limit access to the warehouse at night. The locations also have burglar alarms that are active at night. In order to give users with special needs access 24/7, they must be entered into the alarm system and their own alarm tag must be provided.
  • Can I use my own lock for the storage room?
    Maybe. We are very concerned about security, which is why we use special security padlocks. If you have rented from us before and have a lock purchased from us, you can reuse this. If you do not have an approved lock, you must buy one in the online store, or when you move in.

  • Where is information about customer data and payment cards stored
    Stripe is the provider of the payment service and handles all card information on its servers. Read more at Stripe.com Ålesund Minilager does not store any customer data on its own servers. Customer data is stored on AWS servers in the EU.
  • Can I change room or warehouse size?
    Yes, and it's free. If you suddenly need extra or less storage, we can easily and quickly help you. We can either offer you a new storage room or an extra room. It's entirely up to you.
  • Is there enough space?
    We have storage and storage rooms from 1 – 12m². Normal ceiling height is 2.6m, but some rooms have a ceiling height of 2.2 to 2.4m. If you need extra large storage spaces, send us a request.
  • When do I have access to my room?
    You have access to your storage or storage room from 06.00 - 22.00. For an additional charge, you can get access 24/7.
  • Standard storage units
    We offer different sizes of storage. From storage boxes to units to 12 m². - SMALL 1-3 m² - MEDIUM 4-5 m² - LARGE 5-9 m² - XL 10-12 m²
  • Special storage
    We can offer storage of kayaks/canoes on request.
  • Can I run my business from the warehouse?
    No.
  • Can you send an invoice instead of paying by card?
    Yes. For business customers, we can send an invoice at EHF. PDF invoices will not be sent by email. The company will be credit assessed before the agreement is accepted from us.
  • Can companies rent mini warehouses?
    Yes. Remember to choose a company when you register. Company name and organization number must be filled in. Companies can pay by card as standard. If you wish to receive an invoice at EHF, the company will be subject to a credit check before the agreement is accepted.
  • Do you offer a moving service?
    No. Check with local moving agencies if they can help you move to our warehouses.
  • Do you have trailers for loan?
    No, but this can be rented locally or via the Freetrailer app.
  • Do you sell moving boxes and other moving materials?
    No. Local shops such as Biltema, Jula, NorEngros offer this.
  • What happens when I move out?
    The storage room must be emptied, vacuumed and washed. If the storage room is not returned cleaned, a fee will be charged to the tenant for cleaning by an external cleaning fee. The padlock must be unlocked and removed. If the lock is not removed, a locksmith will be called and a fee will be charged to the tenant. As of June 2024, the fee is NOK 500
  • How campaigns work
    Promotions apply from the day the agreement is concluded until the end of the month, as well as the whole of the following month.
  • Are there things I cannot store at Ålesund Minilager?
    The following items are not permitted to be stored with us. Hazardous materials : Explosives, flammable liquids, gas containers, and chemicals. Batteries: It is NOT permitted to store electric bicycles, electric scooters and the like, which contain rechargeable batteries. Foodstuffs : Fresh food or other perishable goods which may attract pests. Living organisms : Animals or plants. Stolen or Illegal Items : Anything that is illegal to own or possess. Arms and ammunition : Firearms, ammunition and other weapons Storage of such objects is a strict violation of the conditions for storage at our locations. In the event of a breach of the terms, one may be held liable if a fire is triggered as a result. See our terms and conditions for more detailed information.
  • What happens if I lose the keys to the storage room?
    When you buy a lock from us, it comes with three keys. If you accidentally lose all the keys, we can call for a locksmith who can open the room for you. It costs NOK 500. You must also buy a new approved lock.
  • How do I terminate the contract?
    If you wish to terminate the storage space, the termination must be in our hands no later than the 15th of the month for moving out at the earliest by the end of a calendar month. The rented room must be cleared and cleaned no later than 12.00 on the move-out day. If you have any questions or are unsure about the termination policy, please contact us.
  • Is there free parking?
    Yes, all our customers can park for free in our areas when they go into their storage room or warehouse. Long-term parking is not permitted.
  • Am I allowed to install shelves and racks in walls
    No. Any damage resulting from the installation of shelves and racks will be rectified by the supplier of the storage system and this will be charged to the tenant.
  • The JustIn key does not work
    Check if Bluetooth is activated on the mobile phone. Refresh the key by dragging your finger down the screen. If the key is not updated, restart the app. If you still can't get in, check if the rent has been paid. If the problem is not resolved, contact us at hjelp@aalesundminilager.no NB! The key must be updated by swiping downwards on your phone, if it has not been used in the last 7 days.
